Tone & Design

Project PAF #014 is crafted to deliver balanced tone and volume across all switch positions. Its medium vintage output ensures a full-bodied humbucker sound without veering into darkness or muddiness. These pickups shine when paired with a classic tube amp, whether lightly driven or fully saturated.

• Neck & Bridge: The neck has standard output with heavily mismatched coils for a dynamic response that has great definition when clean and is very responsive to onboard controls.  The bridge is slightly overwound, strong enough for a brown type response when drive.  The thicker A2 magnet retains enough top end to cut through nicely.  Big and brash bridge tones.
• Tonality: The 1018 nickel-plated screws and slugs tighten up the bass response in the neck and add a touch of bite in the bridge, ensuring clarity and definition throughout the tonal range.

Vintage Aesthetics: The raw, unplated nickel silver covers are buffed to a soft vintage sheen, showcasing minor imperfections that enhance their classic character. Over time, the covers develop a natural patina, adding to their authentic appearance. The bridge pickup features a subtle patina mark near the outer pole screw for extra vintage charm.
