Specs and options
Output : The output of the pickup gives the majority of the character to the pickup. Lower
output pickups tend to be brighter, higher output pickups tend to be darker in overall tone
response. Standard output offerings are 'Vintage 51' (Blackguard) and 'Vintage 62'
(Whiteguard). The vintage series are based off of historical examples and incorporates various
era specific ideas into each model. Custom outputs are available at no extra charge - we can
discuss unique outputs or hybrid setups to best fit your needs.
Magnet : The magnet used for Tele pickups accentuates the tonal response of the pickups
overall output. Stronger magnets on a lower output pickup will give you a brighter, snappier
response. Weaker magnets will tend to impart more mids and bass, so they can be used to
smooth out unwanted treble and overly icy/bright voiced guitars. Standard on the 'V51' is AlNiCo
3 and on the 'V62' is AlNiCo 5. Also available is a Hybrid magnet setup that gives stronger
AlNiCo5 magnets on the low E, A, and D strings and weaker AlNiCo 2 magnets on the G, B, and
high E string. The hybrid set gives a refined, less twangy response on the higher strings while
muting overly bassy response on the lower strings. Available in standard orientation or RWRP,
and bridge pickups are available as standard flat poles or staggered with higher D and G
poles (not available on V51 model).
Appearance : All Tele pickups are available in standard configurations to fit all T style
guitars. Pickups are available new or aged/relic, with Chrome or Gold neck covers, string
wrapped or tape wrapped bridge pickups. All bridge pickups in the vintage series come
standard with Copper baseplates, all Nashville series come with Steel baseplates standard.
Baseplate material is interchangable as so desired.
All Pickups come standard with vintage style Forbon bobbins, cloth covered push-back wire, and
are wax potted.
